"very concerned" over the crisis, affecting hundreds of homeowners in his South Yorkshire constituency.
Some 3,600 homes in the village of Thorne, near Doncaster, and neighbouring town Moorends have a contaminated supply. Residents have also been urged not to clean their
teeth with the dodgy water or allow their pets to drink it.
Yorkshire Water issued the warning following a consultation with local health experts.
The water company is handing out bottled water for residents in the two villages.
A spokesperson added: "Alternative supplies are being proactively delivered to customers on our register of vulnerable customers."
Mr Miliband, Labour MP for Doncaster North, which includes Moorends, posted on Twitter:
"Very concerned for residents who can"t drink water because of contamination in parts of Moorends.
"In touch with @YorkshireWater about their provision of water while problem is fixed. Also speaking to council."
